Infamous Street Artist DeeDee Haunts NYC Gallery for Halloween Spectacle!

Montreal's Station 16 Gallery returned to New York City this past week to present "The Day is My Enemy," a solo exhibit of New York street artist, DeeDee.  Highlighting themes of deception and destruction, The Day is My Enemy explores the public personas we show to the world and the private identities we keep to ourselves.
The exhibition consisted of original works and silkscreen prints, all directly inspired by the DeeDee’s wheatpastes found in the streets.  Many avid street art enthusiasts around the city are very familiar with DeeDee's work, consistently on the hunt for new pieces on doors, mailboxes and in the alleyways.  Viewing a new body of work all in one space that was decked out for Halloween made it even more enjoyable.  Goth music, bats hanging from the ceilings, scary treats and pumpkins at every turn, perfect!  And, 99% of us do not know who he/she is - adding to the mystery that was priceless for a Halloween themed event.
“In my head, every day is Halloween. My art is the mask I hide behind. The Day Is My Enemy shows how I prefer to live at night. The night is also my mask and hides me as I do what I do,” describes DeeDee.
