The two retailers recruited a list of 24 notable American designers to create limited-edition gift items. Some of the designers stayed within their primary product categories, and others tried their hands at new ones spanning women’s, men’s, home and children’s. Prices range from $7.99 to $499.99, with most items under $60. The Neiman's team is said to have worked closely with the designers to ensure each piece would be impressive.
NM plans to keep everyone updated for this exciting fashion collaboration - for now mark your calendars! The entire collection (over 50 gifts) will
become available for sale on December 1, at Neiman Marcus stores, Target
stores, NeimanMarcus.com and Target.com. On December 1, the entire collection
will be housed within a dedicated space in every store. All points of sale
will offer the same merchandise at the same prices.
It has been in the works quietly for a while, for months the executive teams have
been meeting secretly to plot this, keeping the cat in the bag. (They did a great job!) Another announcement; the two companies are jointly making a $1 million donation to the
Council of Fashion Designers of America to celebrate the partnership and affirm
their continual support the American design community.
The designer collection includes: Alice & Olivia, Attuzarra, Band of Outsiders, Brian Atwood, Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, DVF, Eddie Borgo, Jason Wu, Judith Leiber, Lela Rose, Marchesa (yeah!), Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renat, Philip Crangi, Prabal Gurung (another yeah!), Proenza Schouler, Rag & bone, Robert Rodriguez, Rodarte, Skaist-Taylor, Thom Browne, Tory Burch, Tracy Reese. (Fact; with the exception of Band of Outsiders, all are members of the CFDA.)
Here's looking forward to the holidays, already!
