Last weekend NYC and Brooklyn art enthusiasts were in for a mega treat as Low Brow Artique proudly hosted Bisco Smith's exhibit "World Upside Down." The walls were covered in a sleek black and white, photography blend of street/contemporary art magic as the crowds swooned over their favorite pieces. The fifty plus glossy works were about observations, commentary, and attempts to make sense of today's world in a moment in time where systems are collapsing. The black and white imagery combined with subtle grey tone textures are made complete with a high gloss resin (that is very temperamental and hard to work with, but Bisco nailed it of course, made it look simple.) The artwork transports viewers over train lines, through abandoned industry and decaying walls all while exploring social issues. This brilliant work serves as a windows into a "world upside down."
