The Flower Guy Graces Little Italy With The L.I.S.A. Project!

Well known and acclaimed artist Michael De Feo, a.k.a. The Flower Guy recently added a new piece to Mulberry Street in Little Italy, NYC thanks to The L.I.S.A. Project (Little Italy Street Art), featuring the colors of the Italian flag.  As you'll see below the piece fits perfectly into the settling of red, green and white signage, banners and everything Italian.    

The L.I.S.A. Project is about to celebrate their two year anniversary in October of bringing a diverse group of artists together in and around Little Italy, creating Lower Manhattan's only mural district.  The roster of talent is growing steadily with some of the best local to international artists continuously enriching the area streets.

De Feo is best known in the street art movement for his ubiquitous and iconic flower image sprouting up on the streets for more than 20 years in more than 40 international cities including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Cabo San Lucas, Amsterdam, Paris, Venice, Buenos Aires, and Hong Kong. Although his flower is the only image he repeats in his street art, Michael has created a variety of other works in the streets. De Feo's current studio work reflects his ongoing interest in Dutch 17th century flower still life painting and Vanitas painting.  Michael's studio paintings frequently incorporate geographical maps as a metaphor for painting the entire globe.
