The Infamous Magazine & Artist Damon Johnson - Double Hit at Gallery Sensei!

Recently I attended The Infamous Magazine Issue #8 release event that coincided with street artist Damon Johnson's exhibit "Radiant Jewels" at Gallery Sensei in Chinatown.  The magazine known for its rich graffiti and street art reporting and culture, brought out artists to see the exhibit, mingle, trade stickers and sign a few black books.  For it's most recent release Phetus and Rolo are featured on the covers below (left), and the art of Kobra (right.)
Artist Damon Johnson exhibited over a dozen pieces inspired by his love for Dick Tracy with a similar comic book, hero style of detailed paintings of villains and victims.  Once and a while you can catch his vibrant work on the streets similar to the flower below sprawling from the concrete of a vacant building.  I'm a new admirer to his work and look forward to seeing more in the galleries and on the streets.  Brooklyn Street Art also did a nice feature on him that you can find here: http://www.brooklynstreetart.com/theblog/.  (And, for more on Johnson, visit his Facebook page listed below.)

Have a look at the exhibit and the magazine release...
