A Day With French Artist JEF AEROSOL at The Bushwick Collective!

Good times! The urban art, international, French born stencil artist Jef Aerosol, (Jean-Francois Perroy), adorned one of The Bushwick Collective blocks, organized and managed by Joe Ficalora, last week with a stellar mural entitled "Black Is Beautiful."  The piece is on the corner of Troutman & St. Nicholas and I was lucky enough to spend the day with the artist documenting his process as he put up this "beautiful" piece.

Jef Aerosol has been on the scene since 1982 and is a contemporary of Blek le Rat and Speedy Graphito and is represented by several galleries in France and worldwide.   He has art in all corners of the world and been featured in countless books on street art and in art magazines.   He has also released several books : VIP Very Important Pochoirs(éditions Alternatives, Paris 2007), Risques de Rêves (éditions Critères 2011 + re-release in 2012), Parcours Fléché(éditions Gallimard / Alternatives, Paris 2013) and several exhibition catalogues.

We are happy to finally have his work in Brooklyn, NYC.  (I believe there is also one piece in Manhattan near 11th Ave., in Chelsea.)  Have a look at the "start to finished" photos...
