Mob Wives Art & Random Coolness in the City

Everyday in New York you can find mega-interesting things...here are a few I found over the weekend.  I saw these guys in the beginning stages of a mural on the Lower East Side on off Stanton (around the block from The Meatball Shop.)  Of course, I had to run across the street in traffic to see what was going on. These gentlemen are from Criticall Massive, a company that does commissioned murals and this one is going to be an ad for Mob Wives.  Dave Scrobe (in white), says it should be done soon. I'll be back with more photos asap!  Check out the details....

Around the block on Stanton was an advertisement for Beck's beer that I really enjoyed. But, not being much of a drinker, I just noticed the art at first.  I was all over the "well crafted artistically done" skull and the theme.  The bright greens pulled me in right away....I'll go buy the beer now...they got me. Add successful.
Always nice on Instagram!
I shot of the New Museum windows, yep, I'm busy too but I always have time to photograph a summer art theme! These towels by artists such as Elizabeth Peyton are sold at the museums gift shop for around $90.

And how amazing is this, a huge sculpture off Lafayette in Soho called "Survival of Serena" by Carole Feuerman. You can see the actual drips on the body and tube as well, simply amazing.

Yep, it's hot....everything is melting. I think this is for a newspaper, found on 10th/W24rd near the Chelsea galleries....well done!

This gent is outside and slightly across the street from Ps.1 (MOMA) in Long Island City, right as you approach the 5 Points graffiti building.  Priceless!

Walking On Warhol! There's Still Time At UNIQLO

Why is everyone walking over Warhol?  To get to the fabulous art t's!

For some reason I liked shooting images of the hustle and bustle over the Icon.....

This is one that I bought  - top right....

It's truly still Andy's world, we're just living in it.

There's still time to get your Warhol T's for spring at Uniqlo's Flagship, located on Fifth & 53rd.  Word is they may not be around for too much longer and if you have a favorite Warhol painting, and want to wear it, you should head over soon.
This museum (MOMA)-like event is commemorate the 25th anniversary of pop art icon Andy Warhol's death.  Uniqlo released a limited edition of t's for men and women (yes, finally, women's cuts),  of the artist's finest works.

I spent over an hour there the first day walking up and down the disco-like isle trying to figure it out which to purchase, (fact: he has been one of my favorite pop artists since the early 80's, middle school, when I began learning what art (and Studio 54 were.) I finally decided on the "POP ART IS FOR EVERYONE" w/the banana icon in the background and one with a  photo of Warhol and a skull, both black images on a white tee.)   This, since I love my skulls, (high end skulls that is), and this met the requirement.

Beginning April 5th Uniqlo also began giving out a ticket to the MOMA with any two purchases (limited availability.)  And, a ticket to the MOMA is also a ticket to Ps.1 in my hood of Long Island City.

Yes, take a walk in on Andy and spend some time, like you are at the MOMA seeing his works, and pick up a few works of art, turned into fashion!
