New Minimal Art Display at Anthropologie Rock Center "Gallery"

A quick look today at a new gallery setting among us at Anthropologie Rock Center called Repossession by Italian artist, Marcantonio Malerba.  

I pop in an Anthro store at least four to five, (or ten), times a week throughout the city and the coveted Rock Center store always has a unique gallery setting that I rush to.  They usually combine some form of fashion with art but not always, like here.  Just full on contemporary art emerced in heavy design elements. 

My take?  Clean lines and crisp settings that make you think of what really happened here, hense the title "Repossession."  The minimal nature suggests all is gone, but beauty remains in the few delicate piece left in this "home."  That's my quick opinion, take a look....

The Gallery, Or Should I Say Museum Called Anthropologie!

 Welcome to one of my favorite happy places on the planet; Anthropologie. New stores are popping up all over due to their incredible growth and sales, the latest on the Upper East Side in NYC located on Third / 72nd.  When I walked in I thought I was in a museum, or a the least a really large gallery. Once you go, you'll know. Most Anthro stores around the county are pretty artist and unique, but the New York ones are just insane, thus, I give you Third Ave.

I'm only posting a few photos now, many more to come but the huge, beautiful layout with incredible art everywhere is the perfect experience if you love art and fashion. The clothes and hand bags are art enough, but on the walls see many fine works by local and worldwide artists.  The prices are much more - well, a-lot more than say, Chelsea Art Passage at Barney's but still captivating to look at and get your gallery experience while shopping.  

I plan to try to get closer to these works to get the artists names, needed a ladder or something, maybe next time! Many more photos coming and if you are a regular reader you will see the Anthro fashion and art mix time and time again from different stores.

I may have repeated a few photos from yesterday but these Anthro windows are all that of the art / fashion mix. And, again for charity - New York Children's Art Fund. The purchasing of these pieces is now over but you can still the beyond artistic use of" art and fashion style" at Rock Center.   More and more designers, stores and brands are bridging the gap of the art / fashion mix and Anthro is leading the way, as usual, even past the big, mega-designer retailers!

Anthro Rock Center ALL About The Arts! Yes, I'm in heaven....

All of these were taken with the instagram app, however I had to shoot with the real-real camera too. Anthro's windows never disappoint, especially the flagship at Rockefeller Center! I hyperventilated when I saw these, as all I live for is art and fashion, right? You know that. So...running into these was the heavenly.  My blog has been on hold for a bit while moving, but I'm back and below you'll see a few of the latest and greatest art & fashion mix events. A couple while in Atlanta, but going forward most all will be New York City.  I have literally hundreds to go thru from the Armory, more recent fashionable windows and the art / fashion mix on the streets. Some Random Shots from the BIG ART WEEKEND! And Many More To Come...

 These top two taken from OK Harris Gallery in Soho, I gravitated toward the shoes but many others to swoon if in the area.  These are a shadowed painting / sculpture, you have to be there to really get how amazing these are, my photos do no justice here!

 Grace Coddington, sold out immediately, at the INDEPENDENT Art Fair on W22nd in Chelsea.  I really would have loved this one.....

 The above, simply found on a telephone pole, (near Canal St. of course), where you can find really unique shots of random coolness.... And this bag from a vendor at the Chelsea Pop Up Market.  I would have bought it but do I really need another bag...well...?

Anthropologie, amazing as always, working the art and fashion mix as they always do so well.  Currently they are feature a big, big art show with works in all windows, a benefit that ran thru March 8th - but the art is all still up.  More of those pics to come too. Anthro has the unique ability to bring in the best artists and designers to mix it up and create incredible displays like no other mid-tier retailer. You should see the Rock Center windows....oh, you will next post!
