Rare Sighting: Fashion Illustration Surprises In Miami with London's FIG!

Last week the Fashion Illustration Gallery located in the U.K. brought a variety of sought after illustrative artists to the Bal Harbour Shops on Miami Beach.  Nine top artists who's work has been featured in many prominent fashion magazines and at fashion week events across the globe were represented at the outdoor, three day only, mini event such as Jacky Blue, Blair Breitenstein, Rosie McGuinness, Andrea Fercilia, all below.
The event was based around an Italian theme which I had trouble sorting out as the everything seemed very average, nothing Italian anywhere to me (and I live for anything Italian in Miami.)  I believe the mainly high end stores were doing "special events" if you were on exclusive mailing lists, I was not.  When I heard of the Italian event, obviously I jumped at it, but the real highlight for me was the FIG attendance, which was more than enough as a contemporary artist and fashion illustrator.  Here are a few highlights I was able to snap photos of (in the lower evening light), and see the links below for more information.
Blair Breitenstein - @blairz

Rosie McGuinness - @rosiemcguinness

Jordi Labanda - @jordilabanda

Jacky Blue - @jackyblue__

Tanya Ling - @tanya_ling

Andrea Ferolla - @andrea_ferolla @chezdede

Live From NY: It's LUCY's Deli on 6th - The Happiest Place You'll Ever Shop!

Everything is for sale in this happy place!  Enter one of the most enjoyable markets you will ever shop, especially if you are an original art collector and want a unique buying / shopping experience.  Sponsored by Rockefeller Center's "Art In Focus" initiative and Art Production Fund, Contemporary British artist Lucy Sparrow has done it again with "Lucy's Delicatessen 6th," an interactive public art project and retail experience at Rockefeller Center, New York City.
Artist Lucy Sparrow
In this sixth installation (luckily, I have been to four), she has outdone herself with her "felt art" in an upscale NYC deli - market with every single item for sale. Yes, every macaroon, brick of cheese, little fishes, a single beer, strawberry, avocado or batch of asparagus.  Oh, and let's not forget about the giant install of bakery items which look good enough to eat, literally.
You will also engage a large patisserie, meat, seafood and cheese counter with anything and everything you would buy at your local deli, and more.  Prices range from $5 to around $50 which is a bargain for original art collectors, especially since each item is unique, hand made and hand signed.
All photos are by Leanna V. expect for the last two are via Art Net and Dan Bradica (because my photos of the inside part were awful.)
The 30,000 items will go fast so don't sleep on your art / grocery needs. The exhibit is open from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., 7 days a week through October 20, 2019 and located on 6th Avenue & 49th Streets, New York City.
