Love NYC, Graffiti & Indie Movies? You Need To See "Gimme The Loot" In Theaters This Week!

Wooster Collective hosted an advance screening of the indie favorite movie "Gimme The Loot" last week that I attended last minute.  (This, explains the cell phone images only, lacking my usual camera.)  We were treated to an advanced screening of the movie followed by a Q & A after with the very "real" actors and writer/director Adam Leon.  He explained how this Sundance, SXSW favorite was made for a mere $65k on the streets of New York City.  The best part; the actors are real New Yorkers' - making it even more authentic and meaningful.  If you love NYC, graffiti/street art and indie movies, this is for you!  Here are a few "blurry" event photos:

What's it all about: Malcolm and Sophia, two determined teens from the Bronx whom are the ultimate graffiti writers...  When a rival gang buffs their masterpiece, Sophia hatches a plan of revenge by tagging an iconic NYC landmark that everyone will see.  But, they need $500 to pull it off which presents continuous challenges. Over the course of two hot, NYC summer days they travel on an epic urban adventure involving black market spray cans, illicit bodegas, stolen sneakers and a rich girls necklace and jewels, that is literally the "key" to becoming the City's biggest writers.  See the movie, see what happens!
