URBAN CONVICTIONS: Luis Zimad Lamboy & James Sexer Rodriguez Set Urban Gallery Scene Standard in Chelsea!

Last weekend two on New York's finest urban artists exhibited a "one night only" mega-show at Rogue Gallery in Chelsea. Both artists grew up in the Bronx, NY and had strong influences from the 80's graffiti scene.
Luis Zimad Lamboy held his first gallery show in 1982, shortly after switching from the trains to the galleries.   He has complete murals in Europe and the U.S. and exhibited around the world, recently completing an exhibition at The Festival de Artes in Guayaquil, Ecuador.  His paintings techniques and in depth studies into people, places and nature's elements have branded him a unique style in contemporary-urban art.
James Sexer Rodriguez studied commercial art during the golden years of NYC's graffiti scene in the 1980's.  His teenage years also included underground activities as a graffiti artist on the streets and the #1, 2 and 5 subway lines, later also transcending onto the canvas.  Jump to recent, his last "Support Our Troops" mural went up in front of the once standing WTC at the Marriott Marquis.  His work has been displayed in gallery shows throughout the world as well and both have just completed a big exhibit at the NYC Contemporary Art Fair - Jacob Javitz Conversion Center.  Like, Lamboy, Rodriguez's has a unique ability to combine life's experiences through realistic renditions and graffiti for maximum expression.
