ART BASEL IN PHOTOS: From The Shows To The Streets: Part One!

Upon arriving in Miami, I rushed to my hotel, put my luggage down and quickly headed out, SO much to do with five short days.  Here we go - starting on Wednesday (the day before the fairs "officially" opened), other smaller fairs, yet still "big" were open to VIP.  Let's start there.  Two shows below, UNTITLED located ON the beach at 1000 Ocean Drive and AQUA (Aqua Hotel 1530 Collins), and whatever street art and graffiti I could find along the way.  (Ps. WYNWOOD/ WYNWOOD WALL area is tomorrow!)
First, day one in photos starting with a couple nice beach scenes from outside the fair.  (There are barley zero Christmas or holiday decorations in Miami, but I did see a few palm trees with lights.)
Shepard Fairy, Anthony Lister and Invader on the way...
A few favorites from UNTITLED.

Off to the Miami Botanical Gardens for a private event of BMW & Jeff Koons as he presented his BMW race car, (a bit like Andy Warhol did many years ago.)  Jeff spoke about Art Basel and the car, have a look...
Phillips de Pury & Company - Simon DePury, mega model Karolina Kurkova and friends, (you mauy remember de Pury from Bravo's work of art when he became even more familiar to art audiences. He's addicted to Instagram too!)

And my short "Day 1" is a wrap at the Miami Bortnical Gardens, on to the next one...
