Artists Of All Mediums At One Table: YOU! Zine Workshop at The Hole Gallery - Your Art, Your Friends Art....

It was another hot sticky, summer day in NYC but what made this more bearable is well, art!  The Hole Gallery on Bowery was the place for artists, street artists, crafters (and those who just like to create), as Lucky You Collective & New York Art Department presented YOU!  The event was a collaborative zine project featuring works by the artists below on the poster and many, many more.  Other artists and passer-by's stopped in to create a page (or two, or three),  for the Zine and if their work is chosen, would be published in a book to be shown at the Gallery.  It will be a couple months before the book is finished but organizer Carmen Hall, (below), of Lucky You Collective will keep us posted for the big event. Have a look at the Sunday afternoon artists in action and see a few sample pieces below...

We chose from these supplies....
...and started making this....
Of course you need good music to make art...
The crowd grows.....
Here are my little pieces, above and below...I fussed with the top ones forever and the bottom was done in minutes. Of course that one seems better. It was a challenge for this mixed media artist to create with no paint, or spray paint...that would have been a crazy scene, they stuck to non-messy mediums.
My friend, Aimee Becker's piece...
Loving the art/fashion mix here...artist unknown
Have you seen this street artists work around town?!
Good times....For more info visit: http://www.luckyoucollective.com/ and follow them to participate in, or view their next big event!
