Earlier this month, W Hotels Worldwide presented "Madonna: A Transformational Exhibition" curated by Rock Paper Photo, a unique traveling exhibit combining legendary photographs with street art. The photos are from Rock Paper's comprehensive collection of iconic images of the greatest pop culture artists and personalities. If you don't know of them, and like rock and pop music, you'll thank me for the introduction. These never-before-seen photos from a chance meeting shot by Richard Corman and fellow photographer George DuBose capture the young Madonna, pre-fame, lounging around the roof top of her downtown NYC apartment in the early 80's. You'll see typical rooftop activities of dancing around with the neighborhood kids and get a rare look at her early life. Corman has recently granted international street artist Alec Monopoly free reign to tag and paint over these iconic pieces for spectacular results that hang larger than life, like the artist herself. You have until May 12, 2013 to head up to the gallery lounge at the W Times Square, after that it's moving on internationally. Don't miss this one!
All are by Richard Corman except for two listed that are byDuBose & colorful tagging by Alec Monopoly.
