Ladies Represent! At Culturefix With Claw Money & BUST Magazine

Culturefix Gallery / Superchief on the lower east side was the hot spot last week for BUST magazine's "Ladies Represent!" art exhibit.   The all female show featured highlights such Claw Money, Swoon and Kembra Pfahler among many others.  Claudia Gold, a.k.a. Claw Money's mural was highly prominent on the outside as Swoon's and Pfahler's pieces stopped crowds on the inside.  I respect all of them immensely and have been particularity drawn to all of Gold's unique projects this summer.
A bit about Gold; she got her start as Claw Money, the legendary alter ego she created for her street artwork and has created vibrant, pop culture-inspired murals and designs since the ‘80s.  She has collaborated with of Rag & Bone, Vans, Ecko Red, Nike, and many more, plus M.I.A. and Santogold are outspoken patrons of her clothing line.  And, you may have seen her colorful, rainbow "NYC Pride" windows outside Rag & Bone Houston St. in June.   In her latest collaboration she partners with Lord & Taylor adorning a huge street art / fashion installation in all of the windows.  Make sure you take a walk by the department store at 424 Fifth Ave & 39th Street to see for yourself.  Stay tuned as I will have a full blog post on her extreme windows within the next day or two.  It's my perfect summer art/fashion mix!
Now a couple quick shots from inside and outside the gallery...
