Red Bull's "Canvas Cooler Project" Is Back! Part I: A Peek At The Artists In Progress...

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to attend a media event invited by Workshop Collective to view a few of the artists preparing their cooler for debut this Thursday night, September 19, 2013.  Red Bull's "The Canvas Cooler" is back in full swing this year as 20 New York based artists transform Red Bull coolers into customized works of art.  Before the pieces go on display at select Brooklyn venues, they will be on exhibit for what promises to be a packed one-night event.  A team of select judges will choose two winners who will then travel to Miami for a spot at SCOPE Art Basel Miami Beach 2013 in December.  (I believe attendees will also be able to participate in the vote at the show or via social media, info provided on Thursday.)

Some of the artists participating in this years event include; Hanksy, Beau Stanton, Toofly, Zimad, Brian Kirhagis, UR New York, Indie184, Cope2, Icy & Sot, Col Wallnuts and more.  The event will take place at 8 p.m. at the 1896, located at 215 Ingraham Street, Brooklyn, (off the Jefferson L train.)   Get there early and choose your favorite, it's going to be a big night!  Here's a look at a few of the artists at work....
