Seen Every Possible Art Exhibit? Not Quite - It's PIZZA TIME!

Now I have seen it all.  An art show about and revolving around, "pizza."  When I first saw the invitation at Malborough Gallery, I questioned the seeming odd yet interesting concept, thinking is this for real?  Therefore, of course I had to attend - and, yep - it was indeed a show entirely about one of our favorite foods, entitled "Pizza Time."  The show explores the unofficial emblem of New York City; pizza!   The impressive list of artists include; Cory Arcangel & Michael Frumin, Catharine Ahearn, Uri Aran, Darren Bader, John Baldessari, Will Boone, Chris Bradley, Willem de Kooning, Michelle Devereux, Jonah Freeman & Justin Lowe, Samara Golden, Oto Gillen, Drew Heitzler, Martin Kippenberger, Andrew Kuo, Nate Lowman, Tony Matelli, Claes Oldenburg, John Riepenhoff, Reena Spaulings, Spencer Sweeney, and Mateo Tannatt.

Opening night featured a full on pizza kitchen in front with free pizza, the line was long of course, so I just took a ton of photos - this one you need to see to believe though, it's that good.  Like pizza.  Paper Magazine also voted it one of the best shows to see this fall, read more here: http://www.papermag.com/2013/09/_the_fall_gallery_season.php.
This was the actual invite, priceless.

The show runs through October 6, 2013 at Marlborough Gallery's new space at 331 Broome Street on the Lower East Side, don't miss it, but eat first.  This is only a sampling of the many pieces (of pizza) on the walls....
The pizza that I missed....
