Event Alert: Louie Gasparro's "DON1, the King from Queens" - Panel Discussion and Book Launch at MCNY!

If you missed the book singing recently from Louie "KR.ONE" Gasparro  entitled "DON1 King of Queens," you have a second opportunity!  Catch a special panel discussion and book singing on Tuesday, May 27 at 6:30 pm at the Museum of the City of New York.

Street artists Lee Quinones, Christopher “DAZE” Ellis, and GEAR1, talk with author, musician, and filmmaker Sacha Jenkins and Louie "KR.ONE" Gasparro about the about the impact of DON1, one of the most influential graffiti writers of the 1970s and the subject of Gasparro’s new book, DON1, the King From Queens: The Life and Photos of a NYC Transit Graffiti Master (Schiffer Books, January, 2014). They will discuss the Astoria, Queens-born writer’s compelling life story and share some of the book’s 200 riveting photos of graffiti-covered BMT train lines taken by DON1 as a young man.
Co-sponsored by Schiffer Publishing and presented in conjunction with City as Canvas: Graffiti Art from the Martin Wong Collection. The event is free for museum members; $12 students/seniors; $16 general public, see the link below for more information.
