Artists Heat It Up & Take Over Times Square For Japan!

Times Square was rocking last Sunday afternoon for the Love Save Japan benefit as a true street "art" party took place on the corner of 46th & Broadway.  (As luck would have it, right under the new, huge Keith Haring billboard!)  About a dozen NYC street artists came out to paint live for the event with rocking DJ's, dancers; the works.

My art highlights were Shiro,(below), who traveled from Japan (also for the Ladies First event the previous day, see yesterdays' blog) and Danielle Mastrion who did  The Notorious B.I.G, which sold as she was finishing it.   The event had the tourist dancing and snapping photos in the heat, and of course many local artists and fans came out to support the fundraiser.  We are not sure of the dollars raised for Japan and it's children but the paintings were being presented to many proud owners every hour.  Have a look......

More "summer street art events," gallery happenings and yes, fashion highlights on the way, stay tuned.
